howdy y'all!! it's monday morning again...
financial fasting..i have no idea how far we are but we felt super accomplished last week. usually our grocery bill for two and half weeks is about $100 to $120...this time we spent $80!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
i seriously don't know what to write about in this thing..maybe something like julie and julia? food?
we made pot roast the other night with a friend's recipe...mushroom soup mix, one family size can of cream of mushroom soup and one family size can of water...cook on low all day then boil down the liquid to make a gravy for potatoes...yummy!!!
the other night i tried my hand at risotto. for those of you who don't know what it is you need to research it and try it!!! it's like poofy, tender, flavored rice!! we made chicken, basil, swiss risotto and topped it with garlic, candied cicken breast. try it!!!!
...I am new at this. Keep reading! Perhaps my random babbling will prove entertaing or touching at some point.

Firsts...
Please forgive me as this is my first ever blog!!
This is also the first week of something my husband and I have deemed financial fasting. We are tired of paying money every month for rent when it could be going towards something like a house...especially since a house payment would be much cheaper. With a lower monthly payment my husband coud then complete school...which is the reason for this financial fast.
Our fast is basically cutting out anything unneccessary. We have unplugged the microwave, the tv, the cable, the sound system, the game consoles and unplug chargers when we're not using them. Only one light on in the apartment at the time if needed...otherwise good ol' sunshine in the windows. Fans turned off during the day and only turned on at night to sleep comfortably. No eating out...not even date night. There may be times where we will live on peanut butter and jelly, but if it means we get a house that much sooner I'm all for it. Unfortunately no more unneccessary driving around the city (which is one of my favorite things...time spent talking with my cutie and discovering pawn shops we've yet to venture into). But, once again, closer to a house.
I am going to try and find a job close to the apartment so I can walk to work. I'm not sure how it will go...I have tattoos that are not easily covered by clothing and I now have a giant streak in my hair and put it in a mohawk. My dream job close to home? A bank teller. Please pray people.
This fasting has also cut out trips. No going back to the good ol C of O this summer (colorado) and the only way we will go to Belize is if we raise every cent of support money and don't have to pay anything out of our own pockets.
But enough about boring and depressing money issues...
I recently quit attending BSF because I felt that the work and requirements were actually discouraging me from studying my Bible and I was not enjoying my time with God. I'm pretty sure Bible study is supposed to make you desire to know God more...
I have a stack of books I am super excited to read. It's not like I didn't have the time before...just no incentive. But more and more lately my heart has been so on fire to learn what worship means to God and how it looks in our lives. I want to know more and share it with the kids I work with.
Alright people...I have no idea what to type about anymore. I think I have rambled on enough for one day.
